What it is

IGF-1 LR3 (Long R3 IGF-1) is a synthetic analogue of insulin-like growth factor 1 carrying an N-terminal extension and an arginine substitution at position 3, which reduce binding to IGF binding proteins. It belongs to the IGF-1 analogue class. It is supplied as lyophilized material for research use only.

Mechanism (technical)

IGF-1 LR3 has been studied in preclinical models for its action through the IGF-1 receptor and downstream anabolic and growth pathways, with the LR3 modifications investigated for altered IGF binding protein interaction. Animal studies examined organ growth, nitrogen balance, and gastrointestinal growth. Adjacent human literature concerns other recombinant IGF-1 forms (mecasermin) rather than LR3 directly.
