What it is
Thymosin Alpha-1 (thymalfasin) is a synthetic 28-amino-acid peptide corresponding to a naturally occurring thymic peptide. It is classed as an immunomodulatory thymic peptide. It is supplied as lyophilized material for research use only.
Mechanism (technical)
Thymosin Alpha-1 has been studied for its association with T-cell maturation and immune modulation, including effects on lymphocyte counts and immune parameters. These mechanisms have been investigated as an adjunct to standard care in infectious and oncologic settings. The immunorestorative rationale is described across the indexed trials.
