What it is
Ipamorelin is a synthetic pentapeptide classed as a selective growth hormone secretagogue. It acts as a ghrelin/growth hormone secretagogue receptor agonist. It is supplied as lyophilized material for research use only.
Mechanism (technical)
Ipamorelin has been studied for its action on the growth hormone secretagogue receptor to stimulate growth hormone release, with foundational preclinical work characterizing its selectivity relative to other secretagogues. Its downstream association with IGF-1 has been examined in animal models. Gastrointestinal motility signaling has also been investigated in ileus models.
