What it is

Epithalon (also written epitalon; AEDG peptide) is a synthetic tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) modeled on a pineal gland peptide. It is classed as a short synthetic peptide. It is supplied as lyophilized material for research use only.

Mechanism (technical)

Epithalon has been studied in in-vitro systems for its association with telomerase activity and telomere length in human somatic cells. Additional in-vitro work has investigated its influence on gene expression related to neurogenesis and on antioxidant and cell-migration endpoints. The mechanistic literature is primarily cell-based.
