What it is
ARA-290 (cibinetide) is a synthetic peptide derived from a non-erythropoietic region of erythropoietin. It belongs to the class of innate repair receptor peptides. It is supplied as lyophilized material for research use only.
Mechanism (technical)
ARA-290 has been studied for its action on the innate repair receptor, a heteromer of the erythropoietin receptor and the beta-common receptor, which does not engage the erythropoietic signaling of classical erythropoietin. This mechanism has been investigated in the context of tissue and nerve-associated signaling. The indexed reviews describe this rationale as the basis for its study.
